Yep, it’s so far away from last Friday that–if I chose to wait another day or so–I could still technically be right on ‘Friday’ and just a week late. Sorry about that; working abroad (and in Japan) puts certain requirements on you. If asked whether you like working early mornings or late nights and your answer isn’t an enthusiastic “BOTH!!!“, you may not want to work in Japan. Yep yep.

I went to volunteer as an English teacher on Saturday, which was fun, and then had to renew my driver’s license on Sunday, which was not fun. But all the same, I’m glad to have a valid license for another 3 years! Otherwise, I’ve just been busy with work and narrowing down schools to go to for translator certification. So many choices.. I have some appointments for counseling sessions later this week. Wish me luck!

But now, let’s finish this up, shall we?

I’d be hard pressed to find anyone in this world who needs half the stuff they offer, but that’s really not interesting. After about 20 advertisements for new apartments (I’m pretty sure I already have one, since I have a mailbox for you to put this advertisement in), parking places (big city living; there’s never a shortage of places that’ll charge you for a place to park your car when you’re not using it. Seems like you should just not have a car), or beauty treatments (listen, I’ve come to live with what I’ve got. It’s not much, but I do my best).

Speaking of beauty...

Speaking of beauty…! We’ve got this lovely.. uh.. thing here to our left. I’m not sure what they were aiming for at this particular beauty salon. I can only assume (and, well, pray) that they were going for the Lady Gaga look. It’s not a look I particularly care for, but I think we’ve established a long time ago that one should ignore my opinion when it comes to art, style, and anything in that vein. I spend hours on drawing artistic stick figures; I think that speaks for itself. But even ignoring my fashion-sense-less-ness, I’m pretty sure most people would agree that she’s kinda creepy, and that I’d rather not spend my hard earned money to look like that on a normal day. I suppose that must be people in this world who aren’t like me, though, since they seem to be pretty confident they’re gonna pull in customers.

Yep, curry.

“Curry, Jason? You live in Japan and show us curry?” Yessir, that’s exactly what I did. This is a well known fast-food curry restaurant chain in Japan and I just figured I’d share it to give you an idea of the sheer selection of curry they have out there. When you think of (Japanese-style) curry, you typically imagine some vegetables and maybe different meats when it comes to variety. But nooooo, there’s so much more. Omelettes, egg plant, beans, cheese, hot dogs.. the sky’s the limit. In fact, they even deliver. Don’t think too hard about this, as it will obviously be a scam. Just live the dream.

This particular program (Yosa) offers to do a special consultation with you to figure out your goals and then will help you lose weight while wearing they’re special belt (I guess it’s.. uh.. stretchy?), while you sleep (they will massage the fat out of you), and while you sit (and steam in your own personal human steam chamber.
