So, we’ve got all the supplies ready for the AWESOME MEXICAN PARTY <\/em><\/strong>tomorrow. In case you didn’t know, it’s going to be awesome. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not one for parties (I like people well enough, I just don’t like large groups of people mumbling meaningless stuff and not actually talking<\/em>), so it’s a bit odd for me to be hosting one at my house. But let me make one thing brutally clear:<\/p>\n

We have tacos<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This one, simple fact that override any misgivings I may generally have. Also, my 7 day vacation started as of today, so it makes things a bit more festive. In fact, as soon as work ended, Leia (coworker of mine) and I went out to go shopping. I’ll spare you the ingredients list, but making Mexican food in Japan is a bit of an issue (especially in a smaller city without import shops), so I’ve had to hack together some recipes. If you’re from Mexico–or a lover of authentic Mexican food–you really shouldn’t come. But we’ll be having fajitas, (chicken breast and ground beef) tacos, mexican rice, guacamole, and I think something else. Though I’m by no means an expert in making Mexican cuisine (I do much better with Chinese food and baked goods), I think I can do passably. And better yet? Most Japanese people aren’t experts either. Yay!<\/p>\n

Not too many plans for my vacation, but I’ve got a translation group meeting tomorrow morning (we all translate the same article from Japanese to English, and then discuss it), then the party (about 6 people, so not too big. 3 Americans and 3 Japanese), and then.. just lunch and dinner with some people I know.<\/p>\n

I really should get to bed. It’s gonna be a long day. But wish me luck! I’ll post pictures soon.<\/p>\n
